Where this leaves the building — members serving people who are not members, in real places, because none of this was built for the people already here.
Opens when you’re sent — the Field opens when you are sent, by a person, for something specific. It is not a volunteering board and there is nothing on this page to sign up to.
An ecosystem that only serves its own members is a club, however good it is at it. The Field is the deliberate refusal of that. It is the last place on the map and the one that creates the first: everything here eventually points outward, to people who have never heard of any of this.
What being sent means
- You are sent by a person, for a purpose, having been formed for it — not dispatched by a system that noticed you were available.
- The service is real, to real people, in a real place. Not content about service.
- It is reported back, so the ecosystem learns what actually happened, including what did not work.
- What you carry outward is the pattern, not the brand. The point is that someone else can do it without you.
The loop this closes
A person arrives at the Front Gate with nothing, is received, is known, practises, is formed, and is eventually sent — and where they are sent, someone else arrives at a front gate with nothing. That is the whole shape of this, and it is why the map has no top and no finish line. The last place opens the first.
What this is not
- Not recruitment. Serving someone is not a route to enrolling them, and the service does not become less real if they never join anything.
- Not outreach marketing. Nothing done here exists to be photographed.
- Not a measure of anyone. Being sent is not a rank, and not being sent is not a shortfall.
Nobody has been sent
No one has been commissioned, no service has been done, no chapter has formed anywhere, and there is no project to join on this page. There is no map of where anyone is working, because nobody is working anywhere.
Being sent is the far end of a long formation that has not begun for anyone yet. Publishing this place now is not a promise about tomorrow — it is so that the thing at the far end is visible from the beginning, and so nobody can quietly redefine what this was built for once it grows.
