What this shelf does not have

A library is kept in six layers that change at deliberately different speeds. Two of them have material in them, and everything in those two is above. The other four are empty, and are listed here rather than left for you to discover by looking for something that was never there.

• Curriculum

  Formation material, built as teaching triangles. Nothing here yet: the practices are single pieces of work, and none of them carries the third leg — teaching it to someone else — that §14 requires before material counts as curriculum.

• Living wisdom

  What people have learned actually doing this. Nothing here yet, and nothing can be: this layer belongs to the community, and there is no community writing into it.

• Testimony

  Stories, held with consent, indexed by the situation they speak to. Nothing here yet. No story has been given, and none will be written on anyone’s behalf.

• Record

  Decisions, trusts, recognitions, and this ecosystem’s own history. Empty, because nothing has yet been decided. The Council page says how a decision gets published, and when one is, it lands here.

How anything gets onto this shelf

Four things are required of every piece before it is published: where it came from, who tends it, which part of the Canon it answers to, and when it will be looked at again. Nothing is silently deleted — what stops being true is retired with a note saying so.

Two of those four are true here now. Every holding above says what it derives from, and every one of them is a restatement of a named part of the Canon rather than a new idea — that is the line in smaller type under each. The other two are not: no knowledge steward has been bound to this shelf, and no review date has been set for anything on it. So neither is displayed. A tended date with nobody tending would be the more comfortable lie.
