The working ground
where this sits →The Workshop.
Where practice happens — the place for trying the thing, badly, on purpose, rather than reading about someone else having tried it.
Inside membership — the Workshop as a group, with peers doing the same work and a steward who knows what you attempted, sits behind the crossing. The unit it is built out of does not: a practice is open to you now, with no account.
Most of what is called learning online is consumption with a progress bar attached. This place is built the other way round. Nothing here counts because you watched it, finished it, or agreed with it. It counts when you attempted it in your actual week and something — including failure — came back.
What a teaching has to carry
Three inseparable parts. A teaching missing any leg is unfinished, and is not published — which is why there is less here than a content library would have, and why what is here asks something of you.
The Truth
What is being taught, plainly. Not padded to fill a session, and not withheld to sell the next one.
The Practice
What to do in real life this week, with evidence of having done it. This is the leg most teaching leaves out, and it is the one this place exists for.
The Pass-On
How to give this to someone one step behind you, in a form short enough to actually use.
The six beats
Learning is only complete at Teach. Completion is tracked at that beat and not at the end of a video — the difference between knowing a thing and being able to hand it on.
- Encounter. You meet the thing being taught.
- Practice. You attempt it in your own week, where it costs something.
- Report. You say what actually happened, including the parts that did not work.
- Witness. Someone who knows you sees it. A person, not a system.
- Teach. You hand it to someone one step behind you. Only here is the loop complete.
- Refine. What you learned by teaching it changes how you do it next time.
What this place is held to
- Learning is grouped. Solo self-paced consumption exists, but it is never the primary path.
- Progression is by evidence and witness, never by content consumed.
- Difficulty is honest. Hard things are named as hard, and failure is expected and designed for.
- Every learner is also a teacher within weeks. Teaching one step behind is the fastest formation there is.
- Members author. The most valuable teaching often comes from someone who has just crossed the thing.
- Curriculum is stewarded, versioned, and retired when it stops being true.
- AI assists formation and never certifies it. Completion is witnessed by a human, not auto-graded.
- Nobody is alone in a step. Any step asked of a person has a human presence around it — at minimum, a witness.
What is open today
Four practices. Each is about four minutes, needs no account, and ends with something to do away from this screen. Anything you write during one stays on your device — we cannot see it, and it is not sent anywhere.
- Notice What Is Still Alive
What is still alive in my life?
- Name the Next Chapter
What might the next chapter be about?
- Take One Small Step
What is one small thing I could do today that would move me in that direction?
- Pass Hope Forward
Who could use a little hope from me today?
Not yet happening
The Workshop’s method is published; the Workshop as a room full of people is not running. There is no practice group meeting, nobody is bound to this place as its steward, and no attempt has been brought back here by anyone. Two of the six beats above — Report and Witness — require other people, and the people are not here yet, so a practice you do today ends with you and nobody else. That is a true statement about where this is, not a gap filled with a submission box that leads nowhere.
Nothing on this page is a queue you can join, and there is no waiting list. When peers and a steward are genuinely here, this place will say so plainly and the missing beats will be the first thing to appear.
From here
The honest next step is the small one: do a practice today, off this screen. If you would rather understand the method first, these are the places that hold it.
- How learning works
The full architecture this place is built from — formation rather than information.
- The Library, open shelf
Where a practice goes for depth. Open, with no account.
- How belonging works
Who the witnessing is meant to be done by, and why the group is that small.
- The whole map
The fourteen places, and how they fit.
- Talk to a person
To say what happened when you tried it. That place says plainly whether anyone is currently bound to answer.
